‘This story is no longer available': Instagram permanently deletes some photos

Some Instagram users recently received a notification stating that certain photos from their Stories archives have been permanently deleted due to a technical issue. Meta, the company that owns Instagram, fixed the bug but stated that the lost stories cannot be restored. The error message displayed to affected users will be removed by July 2025. Instagram Stories are a popular feature where users can post photos, videos, and text that disappear after 24 hours. It is recommended that users back up their important memories and media outside of the app.
