European markets open slightly higher as investors digest fresh economic data; German inflation falls

European markets opened slightly higher on Friday as investors digested corporate earnings and economic data. The pan-European Stoxx 600 opened 0.1% higher. German inflation fell in January to 3.1%. Italy will report industrial output data later in the session. In Asia-Pacific, Japan’s Nikkei hit fresh 34-year highs on Friday. U.S. futures were lower Friday morning after the S&P 500 crossed the historic 5,000 milestone. Shares of Ubisoft were up 15%, while L’Oreal shares were down 7%.
