Google’s €2.42 billion antitrust fine in the European Union is set to be upheld by Europe’s top court. An adviser to the court supported the European Commission’s decision to fine Google in 2017 for using its price comparison shopping service to gain an unfair advantage over smaller rivals. The court is expected to rule in the coming months. Google said it would review the opinion and continue to invest in its remedy, while working constructively with the European Commission. Google has also challenged two other EU rulings related to its Android mobile operating system and AdSense advertising service.
