Elon Musk’s Neuralink has successfully conducted a brain-computer implant surgery on a patient for the first time. The patient, a diving-accident victim, demonstrated the device’s capabilities during a live-streamed presentation. Using the implant, the patient was able to control a computer cursor and play a game of chess. Describing the experience as “using the force on a cursor,” he reported a successful surgery and was discharged from the hospital after one day.
